Armonk, NY

Armonk is a hamlet in the town of North Castle in Westchester County. It was founded in 1660 and is home to Smith’s Tavern, a landmark of the Revolutionary War. Smith’s Tavern was built in the late 1700s and functioned as a post office, tavern and stage coach stop. The Tavern now belongs to the North Castle Historical Society. IBM’s world headquarters are located here as well as a multitude of small shops and restaurants located on Main Street, the heart of downtown Armonk. It is also home to the Whippoorwill Country Club, rated as one of the top courses in Westchester and designed during the “golden age” of course design.

In 2007, the population of Armonk was 3,539.
